  • HBSC is a completely voluntary club and it is a condition of membership that every member should be willing to help in some way. Rotas exist for manning the Race Tower, Safety Boats, and Galley, and:-
  • ALL MEMBERS INCLUDING CADETS will find themselves on these rotas from time to time.
  • New members if you join after 1st July you only pay 50% of the full fee. The discounted rate for the next year will apply if the renewal is paid before the 31st January of that year.
  • # 1 – The joining fee is applicable to new members joining the club.
  • Lockers are allocated subject to availability. Please check availability with the Membership Secretary.
  • Every boat used at HBSC must be registered regardless of where it is stored. Registration stickers will be supplied on payment of the appropriate fee (see abvove), and a current list of registered boats will be displayed on the club notice board. Owners of unregistered boats left at the club will be asked to remove them permanently.
  • The rules of the club require that suitable insurance (most importantly third party liability cover) must be in force for all craft involved in racing or other club activities. It is the responsibility of members to obtain such insurance, which can be obtained either via class associations or from specialist brokers.
  • All aspects of safety and management of all craft are the sole responsibility of the owners / competitors.

Parents are also advised that during the course of the club’s activities it is commonplace for photographs to be taken of members/children especially during sail training. These photographs are for the sole use of promoting the club as a safe, friendly, family environment and may be used in publications about the club.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES OR WISH TO HAVE YOUR CHILD EXCLUDED FROM SUCH PHOTOGRAPHS YOU MUST ADVISE THE SENIOR INSTRUCTOR ON THE DAY. THIS IS THE PARENT’S/GUARDIAN’S RESPONSIBILITY.
