Saturday Sailing!

With the assistance of the RYA, the club has employed Claire Gibson as ‘Pro-sailor’ to help and advise new members and novice sailors within the club.

This is a great opportunity for those who felt that weekends were only for the speed fanatics to come down and race, to have the opportunity to enjoy what you joined the club for – TO SAIL, and to add to your present skill levels in a relaxed learning environment.

Claire will be down at the club every Saturday and will be providing the following facilities for members who wish to make use of them:

Assistance and advice

• Assistance and advice on rigging
• tuning
• launching/recovery
• and sailing techniques and activities that will help the novice become more proficient and self-reliant

Onshore supervision

At least shore-based supervision of sailors within the club sailing area, with a safety boat ready to put to sea if required.

Improver sailing sessions

Improvers sailing sessions and 1-2-1 tuition. These sessions can vary depending on demand, from building the confidence of members who have just passed their RYA Level 2, to introducing more advanced sailing skills such as:

• spinnakers
• racing
• cat sailing
• etc.

Get in touch and let us know what you want! Group improvers sessions will be charged at:

£10/3hr session, 1-2-1/1-2-2 training will cost £10/hr. Cost includes the hire of club boats/kit if required.

Boat hire

Usual club rules on boat hire apply, hire costs:

• Tera/Pico £10
• Feva/Dragoon £15.
